Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books I’m Thankful For

November 21, 2017 TTT 18

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and Bookish, and it’s a listers dream post!  Today is a Thanksgiving special, so I’m sharing the Top Ten Books I’m Thankful For.

Top Ten Books I'm Thankful For

Top Ten Books I’m Thankful For

In all honesty, I’m thankful for all the books, and for my love of reading.  Basically ,it has been the biggest comfort in my life.  Whenever I’ve been struck to the ground by events in my real life, books were always there for me.  They transport me away to another world, give me virtual hugs, make me laugh, transport to great adventures, allow me to explore the world and add diversity to my life.  Love you always!

The books below are books that I turn to whenever I need a comfort read.  Mostly they are books from my childhood, and I never tire of reading them.  Something about them just cheers me right up, and reminds me that last time I read this book, I was probably going through a hard time and that passed.  Additionally, I always lose myself in the lovely familiar settings, characters and plots.  They are my time-out, time-away, and pick-me-up.  So to say I’m thankful is an understatement.  Indebted might be more like it.

Talk to Trish:  Have you read any of these?  Do any catch your eye?  Do you have comfort reads that you turn to in times of distress?

The Little House books and Harry Potter are among my favorites. I’ve never read The Girl with the Pearl Earring, but I did enjoy the movie (I kind of love Cillian Murphy)!

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!

Gosh, I love seeing Anne of Green Gables on these sorts of lists. And of course Harry Potter and Little Women. So many great picks!

What a great list of books! Harry Potter and Anne of Green Gables are the only books up here I’ve read before. I started to read Little Women last Christmas, but I just couldn’t get into it… I wonder what I’m missing here?

My comfort reads also include Harry Potter and Anne of Green Gables. But I also love reading anything by Tamora Pierce. The Song of the Lioness is my favorite series of hers.
