Fourteen-year-old Cynthia Bigge woke one morning to discover that her entire family, mother, father, brother had vanished. No note, no trace, no return.  Ever. Now, twenty-five years later, she'll learn the devastating truth

Sometimes better not to know. . . .

Cynthia is happily married with a young daughter, a new family. But the story of her old family isn't over. A strange car in the neighborhood, untraceable phone calls, ominous gifts, someone has returned to her hometown to finish what was started twenty-five years ago. And no one's innocence is guaranteed, not even her own. By the time Cynthia discovers her killer's shocking identity, it will again be too late . . . even for goodbye

I loved the mystery and intrigue in this.  The idea that you could wake up and find your whole family has vanished into thin air with absolutely no reason just boggles my mind.  This book is suspenseful book kept me on the edge of my seat till I navigated every twist and turn and got some answers.

Happy Christmas!

Such a strange plot to just have your family disappear. It kept me guessing and guessing and even though it’s a few years since I read it, it is one that stayed with me.

Well if you are sick, I have the same disease! Nothing better than good thriller…unless it’s a good NA, or a good dystopia, or a good…well you get the picture!

Thanks Tanya! I wanted something a bit different to showcase my favourite books of 2013 and I thought this would be a fun way to do it.

I adored Gone Girl but didn’t enjoy Dark Places as much. I love thrillers and mysteries too as I get really sucked in trying to figure them out so the twister the better!

Yay! So glad you are enjoying it. I wanted to find a different way of doing my year end round ups and I thought this would be a fun way to do it.
