Book Review : Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

March 31, 2013 Book review 14 ★★★★★

What can I say.  I adored this book from the first line to the last line.  I’m still shaking with emotion from it all and so excited to have found such an original writer in Laini Taylor.  When I try to review all I can say is omg, omg, omg, read this book, read this book, read this book, omg, omg, omg.

And frankly Daughter of Smoke and Bone deserves better than that.  And you deserve better than than.  So as a little Easter treat, I’m going to send you on your merry way to the amazing review from Kelly @ Paper Fantasies that made me read this book.  Be warned, if you haven’t read it, it will send you to Amazon clicking as fast as you can to buy it.  But that’s ok because everyone needs to read this book.

Here you go and enjoy:

One last thing before you go, I see the European cover is different to the US one.  Both are fab, I loved the US cover but I think I prefer this one.  So much detail and all so meaningful when you have read the book.

I have heard so many positive things about this book, but haven’t read it! This is definitely high up on my TBR list though. I think I need to go through and rank it all at some point based off reviews/recommendations just so I have some sort of plan for attacking it.

I know what you mean about your tbr shelf, mine feels like a monster. I want to sit down too and prioritise what to read and what I need to buy. The ranking sounds like a good plan but I know I would never get around to it 🙂

I’m glad you loved it so much! My feelings for the book are basically the same as yours. It turned me into a lifelong Laini Taylor fan, and I went out and bought all of her other books (which are also amazing, by the way).

I am so excited I have a sequel to look forward to and then I must check Laini’s other books. One of the best things about finding a new author, their back catalogue, yay!

I know initially I was disappointed not to have the US cover but the more I read, the more sense it made and then I ended up loving it.

Wow sounds like a great booK! I’ve never heard of it until now, and your review (even if its just “omg read this”) makes me want to pick it up! 🙂 Following you now (though I thought I already was haha)

I’m soooo glad you liked this book! I knew you would. I’m ridiculously invested in the story, and I think Akiva has ruined me for real boys. I know Laini Taylor has ruined me for all other angel stories.

Now hurry up and read Days Of Blood And Starlight!!!!!
