#FitReaders – May 20 Goals

Fit Readers is a group/challenge run by Felicia @ Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking About, for any readers who want to commit to improve their fitness. Today I’m sharing my May 20 Goals and why I’m rejoining,

I’ve decided I’m badly in need of a fitness/health reboot, so I figured I’d join for the support, and keep myself accountable by posting monthly updates on here. Plus I love the believe you can do more motto, and am going to embrace it.

May 20 Goals

I want to set smart goals, so that when I post again in June, it will be easy to measure my success or lack of with them. Crossed out because that’s not even an option!

  • Lose 7 pounds. Ambitious but achievable if I work hard.
  • Run 3 times a week. I’m restarting all over again with the Couch to 5K app, as I don’t want to injure myself and plan on building up slowly but surely.
  • Track my food daily on My Fitness Pal
  • 70,000 steps per week, minimum, on my FitBit.

May Thoughts

On Wed 22nd April, I recommitted to a healthy lifestyle, in the middle of a pandemic, but that is when I had my a-ha moment and wanted to reset. Partially helped by my lockdown walks, and an uncomfortable talk about how much weight I had gained. And now less than 2 weeks later, I already feel like I’ve so much more energy and zest for life. I can’t wait to see where I am by early June, and I’m excited about bringing running back into my life.

My challenges this month will be to stay on top of lockdown boredom, contain COVID19 stress as much as possible, and refrain from comfort eating. And to continue to lace up my runners, and push myself out the door to complete my runs. But I’m feeling positive and motivated and ready to chase my May goals.

    I feel like I should have been losing weight the whole time I’ve been in quarantine, but it’s been the opposite! Congrats on your progress so far and good luck going forward!

      Whatever helps us through these strange times is ok. Weight can be lost at any time, right?! 🙂

    This is such a great idea! Although I´ve lost four pounds during the past weeks, I doubt that it will stay away as soon as I have adjusted to the entire situation – if that´s ever possible. I knew that Felicia was having a Fit Readers group but totally forgot about it. Good luck to you, Trish!
