Top Ten Tuesday : Books That I Refuse to Let Anyone Touch

May 21, 2019 TTT 21

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  This weeks theme is Books That I Refuse to Let Anyone Touch.

Books That I Refuse to Let Anyone Touch

I’ve been wracking my brain about this one, because I’m just not precious with my books.   If friends or family ask, I’m happy to lend them a book.  So I don’t think I’ve many in my collection that I won’t pass on.

However I’ve a few books that I’ve had since childhood and I’d hate for my treasured editions to be lost so I’m keeping these just for me.  I adore all these books, and for most of them I have the entire collection.

I think I’d rather give you kidney than these books to be honest!

It makes total sense to me to keep childhood favorites safe, Trish! I also have quite a lot of signed books, and I don’t think I’d lend many of them out to anyone… I just want to know they’re mind – and with a little word from the author it just makes them even more special 🙂

Oh these are so sweet ! No one ever wants to borrow anything or mine so I never come across this issues but I wouldn’t want to let anything that I couldn’t replace easily go.

My daughter ruined several books from my Little House set, but that’s okay. I’m glad my grandma wasn’t afraid to loan out books to me because I read so many wonderful books from her collection! I ended up inheriting her Anne of Green Gables books. I think I’ll pass them on to my boy… he tends to take better care of books.

I have only read Little House and Little Women, but I love that you have books from your childhood. My father was/is a mad thrower-away-er. He never let up keep anything!

Aww, I love that you still have some special childhood books! My mom gave away a lot of our books, but to be fair, my sister and I had a ton!
