The Sunday Post : Get your bookish news – Cork Mind and Body Experience

April 14, 2019 meme, The Sunday Post 17

Welcome to The Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kim the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Grab a cuppa and let me bend your ear (eyes?) for a few minutes with all my bookish news.   This week I’m looking for technical help on comments and filling you in on the Cork Mind and Body Experience that I attended.

Between My Sundays – what happened this week

Cork Mind and Body Experience:

First up, I attended the Cork Mind and Body Experience yesterday in Cork, which about an hour away from me.  Talk about a fab day, and the cherry on top was that everything was FREE!

So I got to attend a Tai Chi class (my first ever) and it felt good.  Even though the movements were slow, they were also intricate, and the more the class went on, the more intense the workout felt.

Next, I went to a talk on mindfulness which was both fun and insightful.  And I came away more determined than ever to TRY to maintain a mediation schedule.  Key word being try, as I usually tend to abandon it as soon as life gets too busy, which ironically is when I need it most.  After than, I went to a talk on being authentic, and mades lots of notes to reflect over.

Finally, I finished with a Hatha Yoga class.  I already love hatha, but it’s always interesting to be taught by a new teacher, and I thoroughly enjoyed the session.  Overall, I was delighted with the day, and getting nearly 4 hours of free classes and talks was brilliant.  There was loads more to choose from too, so I’ll definitely go back next year.

Blogger Commenting Problems – HELP!

Can anyone help?  When on blogger blogs, I can’t comment.  Even though I’m signed into my google account, it just doesn’t seem to recognise me.  Only happens on my MacBook, as I did a cheeky check in work on my PC and I could comment from there ok ,using my google profile.  So it looks like an issue on my Mac, any ideas on how to sort this?  Feels very frustrating not to be able to comment on friends posts.

What I’m Watching:

Still watching How to Get Away with Murder.  Still on series 1.  Still loving it!

Books I have received to review:

Yelps!  I didn’t even know that a follow up was planned for Dark Matter, but I’m one very happy person about that.  Even happier to get the arc on NetGalley.

Purchased Books

All are audiobooks.  Mrs Hinch is someone I follow and really enjoy on Instagram.  Brian Keane hosts a podcast that really inspires me.  And Lucinda Riley is one of my favourite historical fiction authors.

For a while, I couldn’t even comment on my own Blogger post! Eek! I’ve had to switch browsers and be sure to sign in before trying to comment. I’ve had trouble with WordPress, too, which is very frustrating, as I have a WP blog, but I don’t use it, yet I must link to that blog or I get marked as spam. Crazy, eh?

I love hearing about your fitness event. I’m planning to try tai chi and mindfulness and yoga at the library conference next week. These are things we need in the world.

I had no idea there was a sequel coming to Dark Matter. That is very exciting.

I’d love to have you link up at Sunday Salon. I’ve taken over as moderator, and I hope to build it back up to where it once was. It was the first meme I ever participated in, and I met so many bloggers through it. The linkup will be posted each Saturday on my blog, and it will stay up all week.

It sounds like your mindfulness seminar was a huge success! I’m glad you enjoyed it, and got a lot of notes for further thinking 🙂
I think commenting has been made more difficult because there’s no more Google+ anymore. I had to change some things this morning in order to get things set up with my Blogger profile, and not with my Google+ profile. I hope you’ll be able to figure it out, Trish.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading <3

Cork Mind and Body Experience seems to have been an amazing experience. Meditating is something that I need to add to my life. 🙂 My blog is on blogger, but I don’t think I can help you with the commenting issue. All I know is that Google+ doesn’t allow you to comment any more. Do you have Blogger profile? Enjoy your new books!

I was having a problem for a while where my Google account was messed up (because I switched the account I’m typically logged in to) and I could only comment anonymously, which was really annoying. The funny thing is, I finally got it fixed, but I’m not even 100% sure how I did it. Sometimes technology can be so annoying!

Sounds like a great day. I love Tai Chi. I have trouble with comments at times too and don’t know how to fix it.

  6. Lola

That Mind and Body experience day sound very informative and helpful and how awesome it was all free. Sounds like you had a great day. I try and do some meditation, although I would like to read up a bit more about it and learn different techniques. I have something that works for me for now. I try and pick a standard time for it and add it into my daily routine.

Not sure what’s causing your issue with commenting on blogger. I do remember they changed something recently with google+ going away, so maybe it has something to do with that? I hope you can figure out what’s causing it.

    Have a great week!

The Cork Mind and Body Experience sounds like such a lovely time! How invigorating it must have been. I would like to attend something like that, I think.

I wish I had an answer to your commenting issues, but I have never used a Mac and am not very computer savvy. I hope you are able to work it out!

I liked the first season of How To Get Away With Murder, but haven’t made time to watch more. I need to! I am glad you are enjoying the show.

I hope you have a great week!
