I’ve heard various mutterings about how good this author’s books are lately. So I decided it was high time, I test drove Close to Home by Cara Hunter for myself. Someone took Daisy Mason.
Someone YOU KNOW.
Twists galore, a gripping race against time, and police characters you'll love - if you were addicted to Broadchurch and Line of Duty, then CLOSE TO HOME is for you.
How can a child go missing without a trace?
Last night, 8-year-old Daisy Mason disappeared from her parents' summer party. No one in the quiet suburban street saw anything - or at least that's what they're saying.
DI Adam Fawley is trying to keep an open mind. But he knows that nine times out of ten, it's someone the victim knew.
That means someone is lying.
And that Daisy's time is running out...
My Thoughts on Close to Home by Cara Hunter
My thought process during this book:
– this is a good book
– omg what!, *sits up straight, reads faster*
– Detours to Amazon to buy next book in series
– holy moly, this book is unexpectedly brave, unexpectedly sad, but mostly unexpected.
– closes book, reopens it again, to reread last few pages. *pushes jaw back into closed position*
Cara Hunter, you have a new fan!

Who should read Close to Home by Cara Hunter
I’d highly recommend this to you if you enjoy authors such as Jane Harper, Samantha Hayes or Lucy Dawson. And also if you enjoy lots of suspense and police procedurals where you get drawn into the detectives personal lives.
