First, I had to remember how to breathe. Then, I had to learn how to survive. Two years, three months and sixteen days had passed since I was the Rowe Stanton from before, since tragedy stole my youth and my heart went along with it.
When I left for college, I put a thousand miles between my future and my past. I’d made a choice—I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn’t know how.
And then I met Nate Preeter.
An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn’t supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn’t want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn’t.
My heart was dead, and I was never supposed to belong to anyone. But Nate Preeter had me feeling, and he made me want to be his. He showed me everything I was missing.
And then he showed me how to fall.

My Thoughts on This is Falling by Ginger Scott :

I have an up and down relationship with Ginger Scott’s books, some I’ve adored, other not so much. But this series has gathered me back in to the fold and reminded me of what heartfelt, emotional storylines that she can tackle and deliver.

Rowe has moved away to college, away from her parents, away from all she knows and is preparing for challenge OF her life and FOR her life.  We know that something pretty bad happened in her past 2 years ago. Which is par for the course in lots of New Adult books however the events in this book seem far too realistic and relatable to. And living with the far-flung consequences of those events is a theme that I haven’t seen tackled in books before.  View Spoiler »

She meets Nate on her first night as he lives in the same dorm building. And the relationship between them is raw, sweet and emotional. They take it slower than slow as that is the only way that Rowe can handle and it was so touching to watch them reveal themselves to each other and to flirt and to banter  and to fall in love and to just enjoy college life.

This is Falling
This is Emotional
This is Raw
This is Swoony
This is Heartbreaking
This is Funny
This is Realistic
This is a FAB READ

As soon as I finished it, I realised that while I have an ARC for book 3 that I don’t have book 2 so I hopped straight on to Amazon and bought it. And I started it
immediately, now from a book blogger with a tower of books to read that is a huge statement and will hopefully show you just how much I’m loving all these characters.

Who should read This is Falling by Ginger Scott?

I’d highly recommend this to you if you like New Adult books with well-rounded, likeable characters who face challenges head and if you like emotional plotlines that make you feel all the feels.  Also recommended for those who like college settings and sports themes (baseball in particular).  Fans of Deeper by Robin York, In Too Deep by Michelle Kemper Brownlow and True by Erin McCarthy should also enjoy.

This sounds like a good one! It’s great that the bad thing in her past is actually realistic and the blurb and your rveiew make me curious about what happened to her.
The romance sounds so sweer and emotional and I like those slow building romances. And banter between a couple can be great when done well. Great review!

I have this book waiting for me on my kindle, Trish. I’m happy to know I’m going to enjoy it. 🙂 I’ve been kinda burned out on NA lately – haven’t read many. But then I read Easy and a couple others that made me realize they aren’t all bad. *ha* I’ll have to move This is Falling up in the queue. 😀
