Randomness:

As you all probably know by now, I’m a little bit obsessed with my planner.  And now even more so, as I’ve gotten the most amazing book washi tape and it just makes my planner look bookishly awesome!  And I got a ‘few’ other new supplies to use in my planner too. I know!  I think I’ve got a problem! 😀  But seriously, look how fab they are.  I keep telling my hubby that but I’m all I’m getting back is doubtful looks!

Blog Ahead Update:

Blog Ahead 2015

Blog Ahead is here!  I started off the Blog Ahead with a paltry count of 3 posts scheduled (all Oct).  And my aim is to finish up with 15 posts scheduled.  To be honest, I’m not too concerned about the final number, I just want to have a nice little of cushion of posts set up for November and December and I’ll be happy with whatever I accomplish.

So far I’ve 3 scheduled for November now and I have a lot of Oct sorted as well.

It’s here! Note To Book!

My free review pdf Note To Book is here!  I’ve loved all the reaction I’ve had to it so far and if you end up using it, I’d love to hear how it works for you.  I’ve been using it myself all week and I’m finding just having my thoughts jotted down before I write my review takes away that sense of panic that I’m going to forget everything about the book.  In an ideal world, I’d write my review as soon as possible after reading it, and I love when I can do this.  But in reality, it’s often a week or more later before I get to sit and spew those thoughts.  So this is a great way for me to bottle those thoughts until then.

ARC Stocktake:

I’ve moved from 22 to 20.  Can’t wait to hit the teens next week, assuming I don’t go on a NetGalley spree in the meantime!

Still injured.  Still peed off about this.  And I’ve had a crappy week eating too.  Le sigh, it’s all so connected for me.  When I exercise, I eat great but when I don’t, I eat rubbish.  I hate admitting defeat on here but that’s all part of the struggle and I want to keep this real.

My heel is feeling a lot better than it was though and thinking positive, next week HAS to be better than this one as it can’t get much worse!

*********************************************************************************************************************************

Books I have received to review:

None!  I’m in a strange mood and nothing is really appealing to me on NetGalley or Edelweiss. I think I’m also very focused on just reading what I have so I’m not requesting anything unless it’s screaming at me and lately nothing has.

*********************************************************************************************************************************

Books I have Bought!

The Dance Begins

The Dance Begins is a prequel to the new Diane Chamberlain – Pretending to Dance – which is due out next week.  I bought this one to tide me over until then and to whet my appetite a little bit too.  I only discovered Diane this year but now she is an auto-buy author for me.  And this one has a dance setting, I think I’ve died and gone to heaven as that’s a theme I’m OBSESSED with!

I got your Note to Book pdf and I am really enjoying it. It is a great way for me to get my thoughts together. I am so sorry about your injury! There was a time not so long ago that I was all or nothing too. I either exercised and ate perfectly or I didn’t exercise and I ate horrible food. I have gotten a lot better, but it’s still a process.

Thanks Cynthia! I’m so glad to hear that it’s useful 😀

I did about 8K steps yesterday, still a lot less than normal but my heel isn’t too bad today. So hopefully, I’ll be able to do the same today and that will get me back on track. My eating could be worse but it could also be a lot better!

  2. Grace @ Rebel Mommy Book Blog

Ijust got my planner in the mail yesterday!! I already bought some stickers but I need that book washi tape – like now!!! What pens do you use? I didn’t sign up for Blog Ahead but I am trying to get to get more posts and reviwed scheduled so I am less stressed. WOohoo on getting that ARC pile down. I agree that I haven’t been crazy about what’s on NG or EW lately. Hope your injury gets better soon. Have a great week!

You are going to love your planner! They are so much fun, but better than that they really do help me get stuff done. It’s like when I make a commitment in writing, I follow through.

I use Pilot Gel pens like these ones – http://amzn.to/1YZZIYs. They are great to write with and don’t leak. My local office supplies shop sells them so I’d say they are widely available everywhere.

I thought it was my mood when it came to NG or EW so it’s interesting to hear you feel the same. Anyway it’s good as it means I spend more time with the books I already have!

  3. Wattle

I love all of your planner supplies, that tape is so cute! I am totally going to check out your how to write a book review post shortly.

I haven’t started the Blog Ahead challenge yet D: I need to write a list of posts to write up ASAP! So much to do, so little time (or at least…time I am using productively lol)

Writing the list of posts is the best place to start as otherwise I just draw a blank when I sit at the computer. But if I have a plan, it all works better for me. I’m so NOT spontaneous!

I know, the washi is the best washi I’ve ever seen! I love it 🙂

  4. Celine

Ahh, that book washi tape is so cool!

I’m participating in Blog Ahead as well, but I haven’t had the time yet to work on it yet. Hopefully I will after this week. It’s great to have a little cushion 🙂

    Have a lovely week!

Isn’t just the most amazing washi ever! I adore it!

I love Blog Ahead as having a cushion for December works out so well. It’s such a busy month and I know the blog will take a back seat so having those posts scheduled will be one less thing to worry about. Good luck with your goals!

    • trish

Making a diy planner sounds fab as you could organise it with all the things that matter to you.

Maybe the email went to your spam? It’s the confirmation email after you signed up and you just click on name Note to Book text within the email to download it (i.e. – it’s not an attachment). I will of course email it though but it won’t be until tomorrow as I don’t have it saved on my laptop.

  5. Kristin @ My ParaHangover

Okay, am I an idiot or when did you change your blog theme?!?! I don’t remember the absolutely adorable header and prettiness! UGH, I’ve probably said this all before, too. Brain=mush 🙁

I was thinking the same exact thing as you when I was looking at NetGalley and Edelweiss this week, too! Nothing looked appealing at all! I only ended up with a post this week because I was on Amazon which is never a good thing 🙂

You are addicted to planner goodies like I am addicted to design items for my blog on the website creativemarket.com or designcuts.com !!!! I buy so many fonts and little arrows, dividers, etc, for my site and I can’t stop!!! Don’t put a planner in front of me – it would be a bad thing 🙂

Don’t worry I only changed about 2 weeks ago! I think the illustration is fab too and it makes me smile everytime I come on here as it has so many things I love – sprawled out on a bench, being outside, reading, a cat – this is my life!

I don’t know enough about design to be addicted to online design items but I have looked at the creative market before and it’s full of goodness! We could be doing worse though, right?!

  6. Deborah

Am off to check out your download Trish! Very exciting.

Good to see you got The Dance Begins as I wondered if I should get the prequel now I’ve read Pretending to Dance!

I’ll tell you after I’ve read it! 😀

Hope you enjoy the download, it’s very basic and simple but I find it works well.

    • trish

That’s exactly the boat I’m in Shaina. I just never get to write my reviews as soon as I want and keeping some notes in this simple format just gives me a structure and works perfectly for me! Hope it’s of some use to you.

    • trish

Hmmhh …ok…doesn’t sound great! But then again novellas rarely are for me. Can’t wait to read Pretending to Dance.

And thank you, I love my design too. The more I look at it, the more I know that it’s just right for me.

  7. Lola

Your planner looks awesome and that bookish tape really adds a bookish feel to it. I use an online planner, but your looks so awesome I am almost considering to get a real planner too.

Just like you I am not too concerned with the final number of posts I end with Blog Ahead, it’s just a fun challenge and every extra post I get written is great. I started with 33 posts, so even if I only write posts for October I will still end with a nice buffer, but I am hoping to end with 40 scheduled posts.

I couldn’t stay away from netgalley this week and requested two new books, I almost got to my 70% there, but now I ruined that and will have to read 2 or 3 more books first. I don’t even want to know what the number of review books is. I am so impressed with how well you are doing, lowering your total amount of ARC’s.

Thanks for linking to my post! I hope your heel is better next week. Have a great weke and enjoy your new book!

I love my physical planner as sitting down with pen and paper (and stickers and washi!) just makes me feel more creative and I think I do enough things on line so I like that I’ve gone old school with this. As you love colouring books, I think you’d love it too, as it’s another way to decorate and relax but at the same time you get things organised.

I’ll be happy to request books from NG but I want them to be ones that I really, really want and that make me feel excited and so far nothing is doing that for me. And well done on nearly getting to 70%, once you get some more reviews in, you’ll be there in no time!

    • trish

I’ve little bit more to do on Oct but it’s taking shape! So I’m happy with my progress so far. I’ve gotten my HoHoHo challenge post and first day post done now as well too, so that feels great!

    • trish

If I didn’t blog ahead, I would get nothing done as I can only blog at the weekends. Being scheduled in advance, takes a lot of stress so it works for me but I know it’s not for everyone.

    • trish

I’m probably no busier than anyone else but my planner really does make me more productive! Plus I find it relaxing planning out my week 🙂

    • trish

Ah I know scheduling ahead doesn’t work for everyone but I can’t do spontaneous! So if I don’t blog ahead then posts don’t happen!

  8. Rita @ View From My Home

The Dance Begins has a lovely cover and I can’t wait to read this and Pretending to Dance. I’ve read about half of the multitude of Diane Chamberlain books since the 1990’s! Good, reliable reads!

Love, love, love your planner and all the extras of course. You must be over the moon to be so organized. I am a stickler to lists and have them everywhere. I’m trying to get more organized here too, despite my lists, I’m really not so much. Hope your heel heals up soon so you can back to your exercise– have a good week!

I really love that your obsessed with your planner. I can totally understand that.. I love planning and I can really get excited about planning stuff. I get a lot of strange looks about my planning but I’m glad to see I’m not alone. And what an awesome looking stuff.. I’m so jealous of that book washi tape right now! LOL
I’m working the night shift currently so my week is a little weird.. But I planned on trying out your NOTE to BOOK tomorrow. I’ll let you know what I think.
    Have a nice week 😉

  10. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

I wish I was able to not request any more review books. I should make a new random password for both Netgalley and Edelweiss so I can’t log in 😀 Apart from the fact that this wouldn’t work for me to actually submit my reviews…
Your pdf planner for reviews is great! I have a Moleskine book journal I use, and it’s great to have some thoughts jotted down, the character names, and what I thought of the book before I actually start writing my review.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading!

  11. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

There is book washi tape?? I must find some! That is beyond awesome and worth buying in bulk just in case they discontinue it. I’m glad I’m not the only one who seems to find stuff on NetGalley in stages. Either I want everything or nothing. I’m trying to cut down a bit on the definition of everything because that’s how I got in so much trouble in the first place. Have a great week!

It took me a few minutes to finish reading this post…because I had to click to another window to look for book washi tape! That’s awesome!! 😀 I love your planner, Trish. I’ve been *creating* my own because I couldn’t find one to suit my needs. I’ll post about it once it’s closer to being done. Looks like you had a great week. I’m hoping this week is going well for you!
