Help Save a Book Soul for Halloween!

October 31, 2015 Bookish chat, Bookish Fun 13

So as this is the night, when lost and damned souls are roaming widely, I’m going to share with you some books that have lingered too long in the other-world that is my to-read list. I’m pledging to save these 3 book souls from that hellish place and read them soon.

Help Save a Book Soul for Halloween!

I took this exercise of choosing what books to be save, VERY SERIOUSLY.  They couldn’t be just any random books, they had to be books that held a promise of greatness, books that deserved to be read and that quite possible could become new favourites.  Luckily book souls don’t hold grudges!

So after much consulting with my Goodreads shelves and my to-be-read excel spreadsheet, I am deeming these 3 books most worthy of redemption.  These books make me feel guilty as I have had them all for too long and I have a sneaky suspicion that I will love them all.  So expect to see reviews here soon for In The Shadow of Blackbirds, Between The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea and These Broken Stars and if not feel free to come haunt me!

But I KNOW I’m not the only one who is hoarding books!  I’m declaring today international-save-a-book- soul-day, let’s all work together and save a book soul!  Consider this your very own personal book challenge and I’m challenging you to save 3 books from your own to-read!  Bring them from the dark side and back into the light 🙂

Yay, well done on getting close to the bottom of your TBR. I am doing great with ARCs but not so much with my own books. But that’s great too, at least I know I’ve plenty of exciting books to hand 😀

Good luck with Jackaby, I’ve heard such good things about it. And nothing like a second book out to spur you on to catch up!

I love that cover for These Broken Stars and also the fact that it’s a Persuasion retelling really appeals to me! Hopefully you’ll see a review before the year is out!

I have SO many books like that Wattle, I rushed out to buy them and they are still sitting there! I’ll let you know if you should be cracking open These Broken Stars soon!

I have so many books like these, that have been on my to-read list for ages and should get read, but I dont’around to reading them. I even have some books by my favourite authors that have been on my shelves for too long, ouch.

From those three books you listed I have only read These Broken Stars and I think you will enjoy that one, it’s a great character driven book. I really enjoyed it and am waiting for the second book to get released in paperback, I already have it pre-ordered. I hope you’ll enjoy all 3 of these books and can read them soon!

I have a few from favourite authors sitting there unread too Lola and that makes me sad. I really want to get to them soon as I was so excited about buying them and the longer I leave them sitting there, the more that excitement just dies off.

I think I’ll enjoy These Broken Stars too and everytime I see that gorgeous cover I want to dive right in to it!
