The Sunday Post : Get your Bookish News #64

April 12, 2015 meme 42

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Grab a cuppa and let me bend your ear (eyes?) for a few minutes with all my bookish news.

Sunday Post   *********************************************************************************************************************************

This was a great week!  The weather jumped into Spring mode with the temperatures at a lovely 15/17 degrees and loads of sunshine.  It just makes everything feel better!  And I found this week all of a sudden that loads of old clothes are now fitting me again.  I love rediscovering old favourites from my wardrobe.  If that isn’t motivation to stick with Operation Trish Transforms then I don’t know what is!

And I’m in Dublin for the weekend end and am going to see the West End production of Jersey Boys which I’m really excited about as I love musicals.  So again I’ll be late replying to comments but I will get to you sooner or later!

Second Chance Sunday – What happened here lately:

Second Chance Sunday – What caught my eye.  Why not go Sunday visiting?

Amber @ The Mile Long Bookshelf has a great discussion on Should book bloggers get paid?  My first reaction is no as when you add money to the equation, I think it takes out the impartiality.  But it’s a thought-provoking discussion on a rarely mentioned subject.

Ashley @ Nosegraze explains Why You Should Always Buy a Custom Domain.  It makes sense to me to invest in this even if you don’t want to invest in a paid for blogging platform.

Kelley @ Oh, The Books has joined the TRB Jar Club.  I often think about doing this as it looks fun.  I’m a mood reader so it wouldn’t work for every read but for now and again when I want something random, I’d love this.

Books I have received to review:

A Robot in the Garden Unravelling Oliver

Thanks to Transworld Books for A Robot in the Garden.  Honestly my heart just melted when I read the synopsis and look how cute that cover is!

Thanks to Penguin Ireland for Unravelling Oliver.  This book is getting ALL the hype here at the moment so I can’t wait to see if it lives up to the hype for me.

Books I have bought:

Books I have Won!

American Girl on Saturn The Future Collection Watermelon Summer

I won loads of books this week thanks to YA Spring Fling!  Very happy at my little surprise haul and a huge thanks to each of the authors for sending these to me 🙂

Well, that’s  my week wrapped up.  Happy Reading to all.   How was your week?  Any books you were really excited about?

I wasn’t expecting to get so many books from the Spring Fling so I’m delighted! And I was selective too and only entered for what I really wanted so get them all is amazing! 🙂

We had some warmer weather this week as well and it’s nice to see the trees finally getting buds and becoming green again. Have fun in Dublin and enjoy the musical! Those new books you bought all sound good and yay for winning books!

I love when the trees are in bud as it’s just so fresh and pretty. Makes me want to be outside all the time 🙂 The musical was fab!

Yay for joining a new gym! You should get some new workout clothes too Jess, that always motivates me! 🙂 I look forward to hearing about all the progress you make, I know you’ll rock it!
And I’m really looking forward to American Girl on Saturn.

I LOVED the musical and had no idea I knew so much of the music already. I was bopping away! And despite what you said about the movie, I really want to watch that now as well. I know what you mean though, musicals as movies can go badly wrong. I did love Les Mis though.

I can never convert to Fahrenheit! But I just looked it up and it’s the low 60s so it’s a lovely pleasant temp for Spring. Wardrobe shopping is the best (and the cheapest! plus you bought it once, so you already know you like it!).

Enjoy the Jersey Boys show! My brother and his wife saw it a couple of years ago and loved it, and I grew up with the 4 Seasons music in my youth.

I love your Trish Transforms operation! How dedicated you are, and I applaud you. I need to get myself back on track– I had a sleeve gastrectomy (partial gastric bypass) over a year ago and put back 10 lbs. because apparently I succeeded in stretching my stomach a bit again 🙁 I am so bummed but exercise is hard for me, having disabilities. I need to just walk… and you have given me that urge to get busy again doing just that, so thanks for the motivation!

The Liz Nugent book looks right up my alley!

I didn’t realise how much of the music I already knew but I was bopping along to every song as they were all so familiar. It was fab, I loved every minute of it.
And thank you, it’s not always keep to keep motivated but I know I feel better when I work at it. So I try to balance it all out with being strict 90% of the time and then treating myself the other 10%. I can understand just how hard it must be when you are restricted with your exercise as those happy exercise hormones can really help. But walking is great and every step adds up.

I should purge too but I always find it hard to get rid off stuff just in case I need it again. In fact I once donated clothes to a second hand charity shop and bought my own top back again as it looked so good on the hanger! *blushes* LOL

Jersey Boys was FANTASTIC! I loved every minute of it and would go see it all over again in the morning if I had the opportunity. Like you I love musicals and going to Dublin to see a London West End production is a yearly treat for me.

Jersey Boys was fab! I enjoyed every minute from beginning to end and was bopping away to all the music that I didn’t even realise was from the show.

Watermelon Summer looks super cute and just perfect for a fluffy beach read. Hope we both love it Michelle 🙂

Yay for warmer weather AND for clothes fitting! 🙂 That is great motivation and I hope to get there soon. I hope you enjoyed The Jersey Boys. That’s one I’ve been interested in seeing as well. Ooh, and I’m envious of your wins – particularly American Girl on Saturn! I hope you get to read that one soon so I can read your thoughts. 🙂 Have a great week!

I loved Jersey Boys and was amazed that I actually knew all the songs which made it even more enjoyable. If you get a chance to see it, I’d highly recommend it!
I’ll hopefully get to American Girl on Saturn soon as it sounds cute!
