The Sunday Post : Get your Bookish News

April 6, 2014 meme, The Sunday Post 18

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Grab a cuppa and let me bend your ear (eyes?) for a few minutes with all my bookish news.

Sunday Post *********************************************************************************************************************

Divergent came out here on Friday so after nearly exploding from anticipation, I finally got to see it.  And I thought it was good, not amazing but good.  Towards the end I was getting restless as it felt a bit too long.  I felt Tris and Four were really well portrayed and I loved the training scenes and the zip wire scene.  And I wasn’t a fan when I heard Theo James was playing Four but I’m a fan now, I thought he was great.  Like any adaptation bits got left out so it wasn’t as good as the book.  But that is to be expected!

Second Chance Sunday – What happened here this week:

It’s nearly here!  And I’m really excited!!  There aren’t many signups so it’s going to be an intimate affair but it will be fun, I can promise you that!  What am I talking about?  An event myself & Chelsea @ Starbucks & Books Obsession are hosting in April.  It’s a Re-Read-A-Thon to help reacquaint us all with our old favourites.  We’d love you to join in – sign up today!

Second Chance Sunday – What caught my eye.  Why not go Sunday visiting?!

Sorry, no links this week.  Thanks to a mixture of a hectic week at work, some fun family events and a weekend away; there has been zero time for blog visiting. Next week I’ll be better, promise!

Books I have received to review:

Face Time Things We Never Say My Not So Super Sweet Life

Thanks to Lola’s Blog Tours for my copy of Face Time; a long distance, digital romance, sounds fun!

Thanks to Bookbridgr and Headline Review for Things We Never Say.  Sheila O’Flanagan is an Irish author whose books I just eat up.

Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for my copy of My not so super sweet life.  I’m a big fan of this YA time travel series and can’t wait to read this one.

Books I have bought:

I was half thinking of a book ban for April but then this happened.  Oh well I’ve started now so I might as well postpone the ban till May!

I know the feeling about having a busy week and not finding other blog’s posts to link up. In fact this week I was scrambling to find links myself. I looked around tonight and then just settled on a couple. Good luck on your book ban in May!!

Everyone has got to see Divergent only I’m still waiting for something. Gah I wish my midterms are over so I can enjoy my movie. I’m glad you enjoyed it though. Also I have read Grave Mercy recently and I hope you’ll enjoy Dark Triumph. Great haul 🙂

I haven’t seen the Divergent movie yet but I’ve also heard that Theo James was the star of the movie. 🙂 I really want to go see it, but none of my friends aren’t that interested in – boring! Happy reading and have a great Sunday!

The Girl of Fire and Thorns!! I’ve heard so many amazing things about that book (from Leanne). I’m still a bit hesitant though (the idea of starting yet another series doesn’t sound too appealing to me at the moment), so I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts on it 🙂

I LOVED My Not So Super Sweet Life! I got to proof it for Rachel, and I was squealing like a teen girl while reading! I hope you love it! I’ve been trying to read Dark Triumph forever now. I never get time! I also really want to read Julie’s books. I hope you enjoy them! 😀

I saw Divergent too (have not read the books) and liked it. The training scenes were probably my favorite part, I enjoyed seeing her assimilate into Dauntless. Makes me more likely to read the books, to get the whole story.

I’ve been curious about Philippa Gregory, and I need to get to Dark Triumph too.
