The Sunday Post : Get your Bookish News

March 23, 2014 meme, The Sunday Post 32

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Grab a cuppa and let me bend your ear (eyes?) for a few minutes with all my bookish news.

Randomness:

I got invited to a book launch!  But it’s in London and even though the flights are really cheap right now, I can’t really justify how much it would cost to go and stay.  But I’m thrilled to have been invited and look how cute the invite is.  One Step Too Far is about a woman who mysteriously leaves her life and family, gets on a train, and starts again under a new identity.  The invite is a train ticket!  So cool!

Books I have bought:

The Mystery of Smugglers Cove Attachments Ready Player One

The Mystery of Smugglers cove is an Amazon Freebie and I had to snag it as I love its Enid Blyton vibe.

I bought Attachments with some of my birthday vouchers.  I liked it but thought it dragged a bit and felt a bit let down as I wanted to love it.

Ready Player One is one I listened to on Audible.  It blew me away!

Nice new additions, Trish. I’ve heard good things about Ready Player One and am sure I have a copy somewhere, if I could only find it, LOL. Love the invite from Penguin (and the invitations itself). It’s good to be on their radar screen. Perhaps they’ll be sending more invites and some books for review.

Thanks for visiting my blog and enjoy your springtime weather.

Penguin are always good to me 🙂 Ready Player One is so good Catherine! I’m not a gamer so didn’t know if it would work for me or not and really only listened to it as it’s a book club read. But I flat out loved it, the world building is amazing. You should find your copy!

The invite is so cool! And when you know what the book is about, it matches perfectly. I like their marketing!

Ah what a shame you can’t come … even though I don’t have an invite but could have met you for a coffee before, lots of book shops in the vicinity 🙂 You are right about The Accident, it got my curiosity straight away.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Aw, that’s a pity! We would have a great chat about books and blogging. Fingers crossed The Accident is as good as it looks.

    • trish

I love the invite, they obviously put a bit of thought into it as it matches the book perfectly.
And I can’t wait to read The Accident!
      Have a great week 🙂

I think I preferred Fangirl to Attachments, I identified more with the characters there.
      The Accident looks intriguing!

One Step Too Far sounds really interesting based on your review. I like the sound of The Accident- that tagline does make you wonder what the secret is.And the Mystery of Smugglers cove caught my eye- that looks like a fun series! Will be checking those out.

I really liked Ready Player One a lot.

Ready Player One was so good! As a non gamer, I thought I might be bored but the world building was just so good, I loved it.
One Step Too far is an intriguing read as you have no idea why she ran away. One of those you read in one sitting!

I can’t believe you haven’t read Ready Player One Michelle. As a gamer, I think you’ll love it. It nearly made me want to play!

    • trish

I know the invite is cool! It was be even better if it was nearer and I could actually go! But even to get invited was fun 🙂

I read the Paul Moxham book yesterday and was very disappointed. It was very unoriginal and had no character development. Oh well you can’t win them all!
