It’s my Bloggy Birthday!

March 1, 2014 Book Event, Bookish Fun 50

I’m 1 year old today!  Happy blogoversary to me (and is it just me or is that word impossible to spell!).  This is how it all began back on 1 March 2013.

I’m no stranger to blogging, no stranger to books and have decided to combine 2 loves and start a book blog.  This is where I get to share my obsessive love of books, my thoughts on all things bookish, my book reviews and where I make a little internet home for myself to rave and rant about all things literary.

I had no idea in those early days that book blogging was going to be one of the best adventures I ever went on.  I didn’t realise that I would make so many new friends, find so many blogs that I love to read, that I would get ARC’s (I didn’t even know what they were!), that places like NetGalley and Edelweiss were waiting for me to roll my trolley around  them, that I would grow to love twitter.  No IDEA.

You would think it would be the books that would be the highlight of my blogging year but as amazing as the books have been, they don’t get top spot.  That goes to the people I have met.  You for reading, You if we chatted on twitter, You if we talk on each others blogs, You if you ever commented on here. You if you are an author who has given me a book to review.  You if you are an author who has talked back to me on twitter.  You if just lurk around here, I’m dying to know who you are but lurking is ok too.  You!  You rock 🙂  And You are why I continue to blog.

tackle hug

But I have to give a special hug to these people who mean so much to me:

The Girls with BooksChelsea @ Starbucks & Books Obsession , Danielle @ What Danielle Did Next, CeCe @ Steaming Mug of Books, Tonya @ Lilybloombooks, Jessica @ Lovin’ Los Libros and Wendy @ Book Scents.  I love our chats and the way we all support each other.  I know I can always jump on twitter and find one of you to have a laugh with.  So much love for you all as people and as bloggers and as book pushers.  <3 <3 <3  And when it come to book recommendation, everyone of you are my first port of call; you know what I love.

Dee @ Dee’s Reads who is a sweetheart.  We’ve read classics and had some fun chats and share mad love for all the books.

Asti @ A Bookish Heart – one of the first commenters on my blog and a blogger who inspires me with her creative content.  I can’t wait for her blogging break to be over as I miss you Asti.

Kelley @ Another Novel Read – I love Kelley’s discussions and her thoughtful comments.  Kelley digs deep whenever she discusses a subject and always has an interesting angle.

Lark @ Lark Writes is a great supporter of my Green Giants post where I share the love for Irish authors.   I love how she always adds her comment in on this post (and lots of others too).

Kim @ The Caffeinated Book Reviewer – Kim gave me so many tips when I first started blogging, we share a love of all types of books and on top of it all Kim is a great commenter.  Thanks Kimba!

Charleen @ Cheap Thrills – I love that Charleen focuses on thrillers which is one of my favourite genres and I love how honest and forthright she is on my discussion posts.

Nuz @ Say it With Books – Another early commenter on my blog and someone I have really enjoyed getting to know over the past year

Amanda @ Go Book Yourself – It’s always exciting to meet other Irish book bloggers and I love that Amanda concentrates on books I wouldn’t see on other blogs.

Cayce @ Fighting Dreamer – I love how unique Cayce is and she always approaches topics in a fun way.  Her blog and posts are so colourful and her new freestyle reviews are fab.

Amy @ Spreading UKYA – I love Amy’s enthusiasm for books and her non cookie cutter reviews.  And she is the queen of retweeting too.

Thanks to everyone for making this such a successful blog year for me.  The first of many I hope 🙂

As a small appreciation, I’m giving away a €10 Amazon giftcard.  Good luck!!

Aww that’s all right. But I am glad they make you smile! 😀

Aww, thanks for the mention! I hope you’re having a fabulous blogoversary then… I’ve actually know you since you were about a month old I think so a year now? Whoop Between My Lines! I’m mostly a lurker (well, I pop in & then if it’s a review for a book I’m not as interesting I pop back out) but we’ve had decent chats, especially on Twitter XD One thing I love about your variety is that, you’re one of the blogs that breaks the idea of ‘cliques’ in blogging down. I think Asti is quite good at it, even though she’s not good such a mixed bag. You guys just communicate with so many different bloggers & your love for books stretches wide… 😀 Thanks for blogging still 🙂
I haven’t met Lark on Tonya so I’m off to see their blogs…

Thanks Amy, yep we’ve had some fun twitter chats! And lurking is fine 🙂 I’m just as much a blog hopper as I am a genre hopper and I really appreciate you commenting on that. Down with cliques!

HAPPY ONE YEAR BLOGOVERSARY! I love that we started around the same time, and that we’ve had such great years blogging. I’m proud to be one of the first commentors on your blog, and hopefully when I’m fully back (which is supposed to be tomorrow O.o) you’ll see me even more often!

Happy Blogoversary, Trish!! You ROCK too!! Your blog is seriously one of my favorites. I love that you read a wide variety of genres and that you, too, love Agatha Christie. And it’s you and your fabulous Green Giants feature that I have to thank for introducing me to Tana French. <333

Here's to many more -successful&fun- years of blogging (and thanks for the giveaway)!

    I love the artwork in your banner, and in the sidebar! There’s something very sweet vintage Parisian about it…if that makes sense. It made sense in my head ^_^;

Anyhoo, congratulations on your first blogoversary! (yeah, that’s a fun word to play with 🙂 ) That heart cake looks delicious.
