The Sunday Post : Get your Bookish News

January 26, 2014 meme, The Sunday Post 30

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Grab a cuppa and let me bend your ear (eyes?) for a few minutes with all my bookish news.

Sunday Post *********************************************************************************************************************

I’ve watched all the new series (season 3) of Sherlock twice now!  I love this series so much and if you haven’t seen it yet, all I will say is the last episode is the BEST ONE EVER!  I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through :O  The whole concept of making this high tech was just brilliant and the acting is second to none.  Why must we wait so long for the next season.  WHY?!  *sulks*

Books I have received to review:

He Belongs to Me Believe Girl Missing Prisoner of Night and Fog

He Belongs to Me is a courtroom battle over custody of a child.  Which seems a bit at odds with the cover but it sounds messy and dramatic.

Believe is the third book in this great NA series by Erin McCarthy.  SO good!  I heart these characters even the ones I think I’ll hate.

Girl Missing is serial killer thriller.  This will terrify me but I can’t wait to get to it!

Prisoner of Night and Fog is set in 1930’s Munich and even reading the synopsis gives me all the feels.  Adolf Hitler’s niece and a jewish reporter; I’m getting ready for one of the most forbidden love stories ever.  Even the cover makes me want to abandon my current reads and dive in.

Books I have bought:

None!  Jan ban is still in force.

One last piece of news, Between My Lines took the plunge on to facebook.  So if you use FB, please like my page if you like!

So that’s  my week wrapped up.  Happy Reading to all.

Go you, with your Jan Ban still going! I would never have lasted so long – banning myself just tempts me more.

Sherlock was good, wasn’t it? I preferred earlier series, and was a bit worried for this one, but I knew it would all come together in the end. Now it’s just the horrible wait for the next series. Just a year or so to go…

I’m shocked that I’m keeping to my Jan Ban! I think I bought so many books over Christmas though and ones that I’m really excited about reading that I don’t want to get any more until I put a dent into these.

Re Sherlock, I just loved that last episode, I wasn’t expecting it, any of it! The second episode with the wedding was so funny, I loved watching Sherlock squirm as he tried to express his feelings.

Prisoner of Night and Fog is on Edelweiss and it sounds fab. And already I have seen a few trusted friends give it 5 stars so I’m feeling hyped for it.

He Belongs to Me sounds like it will be an emotional read. It has been a long time since I read something with a courtroom drama so it should be a refreshing change.

Thanks Laurel, those e-book bargains are normally my downfall! So far so good this month though. I’m determined to catch up a little first before I buy anymore.
I’ll be along shortly to check your blogiesta progress 🙂

I never bought or read Sweet but it’s the next book I’m going to buy as soon as I lift my ban! Believe is excellent and I had totally forgotten how much I loved these characters. I didn’t read Sweet as I wasn’t sure I liked Jessica but having seen her and Riley in Believe, I REALLY want to read their story now.

Each series is so short that it will be good to watch 2 and 3 together. They are tantalisingly short! Hope you have a great week too 🙂

Thanks Greg, there have been so many Sherlock series and films but this one really stands out for me. Love it!
Hope you found some interesting links 🙂

The ban is KILLING me Wendy. One of the only reasons I’m sticking to it is I’ve a new visa that I haven’t linked to my Amazon so I can’t one click! Otherwise I’d never have lasted this long :O
The new season of Sherlock was my favourite and I loved the others too. Hope you get to see it soon.

Damn, I still need to watch the 2nd season of Sherlock. I think I’ll do a marathon with all three seasons and binge! And nice haul. Yeah, the cover of He Belongs to Me does seem at odds with the blurb.

With only 3 episodes per series, it is very easy to catch up. Hope you get a Sherlock Day soon and enjoy 🙂
I was writing off He Belongs to Me when I got the review request as the cover did nothing for me but then I read the blurb and I was like ohhhh….that sounds good!

I HATE that there is only 3 episodes, it just isn’t enough! Especially as we wait so long between series. And yes Prisoner of Night and Fog looks fab!
