Books I have received to review:

O’Brien Press had another very exciting parcel for me again this week.  More Irish authors!

Stormclouds by Brian Gallagher in a YA book set in Belfast during the very turbulent and violent background of the late 60’s

Hunting Shadows by Sheila Bugler is tense thriller set in London and Kent

Thanks to NetGalley for the books below.  I was so excited to be approved by Harlequin for Crash into You and Stir Me Up.  And I was meant to be on a requesting ban but when I saw the netgalley email about Roomies, I couldn’t resist.  So yes that’s more 3 NA’s on my to-read list!

Roomies Crash into You Stir Me Up

I’m currently turning down most review requests as I need to catch up but I couldn’t resist these two.  Thanks to the authors for sending them on to me.

Finding Claire Fletcher by Lisa Regan is a missing persons psychological thriller.  Sounds scary!
The Cursed Existence of Jessalyn Bell by Katie Johnson is an NA book with lots of humour by the sounds of it.

Looks like a great week, Trish! I have my eye on Brooklyn Girls but my review pile is lil too intimidating so I haven’t logged into NetGalley for a while.
Hope you enjoy Crash into You-Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
I’ve never put blogging in my CV and I don’t think I would either. But I think if you are going for a career in marketing blogging might be considered as a valuable skill.

    Happy Reading! 🙂

I’m on a book ban! I know, it doesn’t look like it above but most were requests I couldn’t say no to! And the two Harlequin books I had requested weeks ago. I’m staying off NetGalley for a while now till I catch up!
I work in finance and don’t really need to put in my cv as I have lots of relevant experience. However I still will as it would be an interesting hobby to chat about and the skills have such a large crossover to any career. I can understand why people wouldn’t want to either though.
Have a good week Nuz 🙂

You are welcome Celine! It was a great article, very thought provoking and I really identified with a lot of what you had to say. Which was odd in a way as I’m a new blogger not a golden oldie!

  2. chelleyreads

i really like the sound of roomies. you’re so lucky you got to download roomies–by the time i got my netgalley email it was too late and they closed the downloading window. you got some awesome books this week. happy reading 🙂

hope you can stop by my StS/Sunday Post.

Aw, I’m sorry you missed out on Roomies. I was lucky I saw the email at lunchtime so I was able to click immediately.
      Have a great week Michelle.

Ohhh you’ve read Crash into You already! So glad to hear that it’s that good as that really is high praise for this series. Really looking forward to cracking it open!

  3. Megan @ Adrift on Vulcan

Eeep, thanks so much for mentioning my post, Trish! I also just wanted to let you know that I read your comment on my post about blogging envy, and I appreciate what you said, so much. I couldn’t reply to all the comments because I didn’t have time, so I’ll just tell you here. Thank you so much for that encouraging comment — it truly brightened up my day! <3

And thanks for compiling together those other discussion posts; I really need to check out Berl's post about blogging ADD, though I have a sinking feeling that I know what it's going to be talking about, and that I'll be able to relate… *hides*

CRASH INTO YOU! Whoo! I got approved for that, too, and I am so freakin' excited because KATIE MCGARRY. She manages to make me fall in love with characters I originally disliked. Let's hope our expectations aren't dashed for this one! I also saw ROOMIES, but decided not to request it for some reason. All the same, I'll be keeping an eye out for your review. 😀

Hope you have a brilliant week, hon!

You are welcome Megan 🙂 Yes, I think lots of us see ourselves in that ADD post, I know I do anyway!
Like you I’m so excited about Crash into You and to finally read Isaiah’s story. Fingers crossed we aren’t over hyped but I trust Katie to deliver!

I tried to resist Roomies but after a few seconds I said nope, got to have this one! And thanks re my header 🙂

  4. Catherine @ Book Club Librarian

Another lovely book haul, Trish. Will be on the look-out for these.

Thanks for the Dublin bookstore recommendations you mentioned in a comment on my blog last week. I’ve been to Hodges Figgis and left many euro behind :-). I’m also a frequent shopper at Read’s on Nassau Street. Looking forward to visiting both again next month.

Thanks Laurel, 3.5 stars is a good rating from me so I did like How To Be A Good Wife a lot. Hope you enjoy it and I’d love to trade theories when you are done! Have a great week 🙂

    • trish

I’m going to be very restrained over the next few weeks while I catch up. It has to be done from time to time!

  5. Dee @ Dee's Reads

Awesome haul, trish! Hey, so..for some reason since you changed your blog it’s not appearing on my blog roll!? Looking into it now..going to manually enter it in, probably bc the addy changed. Roomies looks good! Can’t wait to see what u think 🙂
Oh and I’m down to do a post by Nov 15. I abandoned Twelfth night! but I can go back and finish otherwise I have been reading a lot of Edgar Allen Poe lately for Halloween! So I’ll maybe do like a mashup post or something.
As far as the auto approval from HarperCollins it came via Edelweiss, no they didn’t contact me I just logged I and saw all their books available for download! I had requested like two of their books and got denied for one but they asked for more blog stats. So, I did then reapplied and got auto-approved. I wonder if that’s the same process they use for Netgalley. But, I hear they auto-approve a lot of blogs lately (HarperCollins). Go for it, doll!

    Xoxo Happy Reading!

Oh yes, it’s the new blog name, so you’ll have to update with the new address and hopefully I’ll be back up on Dee’s Reads then!
Thanks for all the info re Harper, last thing I need is more books but auto approval is amazing! I’ll give it a shot on Edelweiss and see what happens, I’ve been eying up lots of books of theirs anyway. And the dates are a good bit away so I’ve lots of time to read them, so it’s perfectly ok to break my book ban, right! LOL, a book lover always finds a reason to wriggle out of book bans!

  6. Greg

Great list of links there, lots to read! I liked Megan’s and Celine’s eespecially and wouldn’t have seen them if not for your link, so thanks. Thought provoking stuff. Same for your thoughts on including blogging on cv’s.

    Have a good week.

    • trish

Thanks for visiting Greg and I’m glad you found some interesting links. I love discussion posts so I’m always on the hunt for them 🙂

    • trish

Crash into You sets my heart racing in anticipation. So far I’m ok with keeping up with my book hauls, every now and again I feel I need to put the brakes on so it doesn’t all run away from me. So far, so good! Without my catch up periods though I’d be flailing all around the place 🙂

    • trish

Thanks Wendy and yes, I’ve seen you fan-girling for Stir Me Up so you have me hyped up nicely for it. Really looking forward to it!

    • trish

Michelle, I know you have read and enjoyed a few contemps this year and I think you’d really enjoy Pushing the Limits series (I’ve only read Dare You To so far but it was enough to convince me). Auto approve on Harlequin, I’m so jealous! Is that on Edelweiss or NG and did you do something to get it or did they just approve you?
