August 10, 2013 meme, The Sunday Post 0

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  Grab a cuppa and let me bend your ear (eyes?) for a few minutes with all my bookish news.

Second Chance Sunday – This is what happened here this week:

Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein – 5 stars for a fantastic YA historical fiction. If that is your genre, this is a must-read.

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris – 4.5 stars for a fun frolic in 16th century Florence

Green Giants – Irish Author Spotlight – Sharing my love for one of Ireland’s most loved writers – Maeve Binchy

All In by Marta Brown – 3 stars for a light but fun beach read

How to read a book – Who knew there was a right way or a wrong way?!

Bookish Chat – Book Extracts – Where I explain why I don’t like book extracts and what I would like to see instead.  What is your opinion on them?

Second Chance Sunday – Some posts that caught my eye around the blogosphere.  Do yourself a favour and go Sunday Visiting?!

Awesome Things Publishers Do – Christina Reads YA shares her likes and dislikes when it comes to publishers promoting books

Series and Rereading – Kristilyn @ Reading in Winter discusses what type of books she likes in  a series and makes a plea for rereading.  I get this one, I used to be a huge rereader but it rarely happens since I started blogging.

The Different Types of Readers – Reem @ I Read & Tell has a great post with cute drawings about the different types of readers.  Go see which one you are!

Books and Sex – Chelsea @ Starbucks & Books Obsession tackles the issue of books and sex and how explicit YA books should get.

What Books Taught Me – Stormy at Book Bake Blog shows us what books have taught her and I know all book lovers will be nodding their head in agreement.

Names in Fiction vs Real Life – Amy @ Ode to Jo & Katniss reflects on book names

Blog Organisation with MS One Note – Asti @ A Bookish Heart divulges how she organises her blogging life

Books I have received to review this week:

Candy and the Cakersaur and The New Crown are charming looking childrens books sent to me by the author Jason Sandberg for review.

The Art of Letting Go is a blog tour I signed up for, I heard the words NA and I was in!

Stay With Me is from NetGalley and why yes it is another NA.

Girl on Tour thanks to Caisey Quinn.  I loved Girl with Guitar and can’t wait to read more about my old friends and see what trouble they get into on tour.

Waiting on the Sidelines is a contemporary, coming of age YA from NetGalley.

Bit of a mix this week! When I say my book motto is anything goes, I’m not joking 🙂

Books I have bought this week:

Just one this week.  One very highly anticipated book!

And I was so impatient all week as it was released on Tuesday but despite stalking amazon all day, it wasn’t available for purchase.  I went into full fangirl meltdown as you can see!  Thanks to Rachel for being so awesome and for promising to send me swag as well <3

@TrishHannon are you international? We have it here but there was a slight glitch w/ int’l ebooks. It’ll be up very soon!
