How To Read A Book

August 9, 2013 Bookish chat, bookish habits 0

Bookish Finds is a feature that Asti @ A Bookish Heart does weekly on her blog. She finds the most amazing book art every week for us all to admire and I highly recommend you check that out.  My bookish finds are more related to books and ways of obtaining books but it is inspired by Asti’s feature.

Why did no one tell me there is a right way to read a book!  This is something a book blogger should know how to do, right?  Have I being doing this all wrong?

I thought all I had to do was swoon or criticise the cover, glance at the blurb, turn to page 1.  Go top to bottom, left to right.  Flick page.  And repeat and repeat and repeat until done!

But then I found this gem on Amazon. It is around since the 1940’s and is described as a living classic and has a ton of 5 star reviews on Amazon.  And all joking aside, I wonder if it would help me be a better reviewer, will it make me question more or have a different approach as I read.  I’m always willing to try and grow as a reviewer so I am interested.

From the cover, it looks like it involves holding a book at a slight awkward angel and looking disdainfully at the words!  It does sound like what is between the covers is slightly more enlightening than that though!
