Catching Up – why I’ve being MIA

August 31, 2013 Bookish chat 0

Hi folks,

You might or might not have noticed that I have been missing in action a bit lately.  It is probably not too obvious on the blog as my reviews are scheduled weeks in advance so all is business as normal there.  However, I’m sure it’s obvious to lots of you though that my blog visiting has been severally curtailed to practically non existent.

My dad is ill with a serious leg infection but thankfully now seems a little better.  At one stage it was looking very likely that he was going to lose some of his foot and we were worried sick.  It now seems a lot more hopeful and we are breathing cautious but very thankful sighs of relief.

As much as I missed blogging and catching up with everyone, I know my first priority in life will always be my husband and my family so I have no problem with my decision to spend all my free time with family lately.  Juggling life with blogging can be difficult at times but I know my blog will always be here to return to and will at times have to wait until I have time for it.

Books have always been there for me during difficult times in my life and these past two weeks have been no different.  The ability of a book to give you some stress- free-time-out from real life can never be underestimated and I will always want to shout out my love for books.  So I’m not going anywhere, I just wanted to explain my little absence to you all.

I have a bit of exciting news too (exciting for me anyway!), thanks to Emma @ The Graphicness , I have a new header and blog button.  Feel free to grab it if you want to.  I love that Emma has taken my original favourite image and added in the stopwatch to show that reading is my time-out.  I didn’t even ask her to do that but it is perfect for me and totally explains what reading means to me.  Thanks Emma, you are a mind reader!
