The Sunday Post, Issue 2

April 14, 2013 meme, The Sunday Post 34

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.  It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Second Chance Sunday – This is what happened here this week:

A Happy Accident by Evan Tyler – 4 star book review
TTT – Books I Read before I was a Blogger
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young – 1 star book review
One Step Too Far by Tina Seskis – 4 star book review
Nude Covers, Nude Appeal – bookish chat about my feelings on semi naked men on book covers

I also forced myself to sit down with and make a ‘books reviewed’ page.  Just like real housework, I hate blog housekeeping but felt I had procrastinated enough.  Happy out to have finally done this.  Now all I have to is maintain it and unlike my real house no can mess it up only me!

Second Chance Sunday – Some posts that caught my eye around the blogosphere.  Go Sunday Visiting!

Bookish Thoughts on Classics – Asti makes a classics confession
Bitter Book Bloggers – Cuddlebuggery refutes the argument that bitter book bloggers are just jealous aspiring authors
The Plot Device Boyfriend – Kelly’s YA Epidemics discussion continues with Plot Device Boyfriends this week.
Lets Talk Bloggers – Book Whore talks about the Power of School Reading
Why-We-Seek-Arcs – Danny Bookworm discusses why we seek Arc’s

Books I have won :
None.  Sad face!

Books I have received this week to review:

Lots.  Happy Face!  And all look so good, can’t wait to get stuck into them.  Especially Pas De Death, I want to give it 5 stars just for the name 🙂

Books I have bought this week

None!  Proud face!  I have retained my Saint of Restraint title for another week.  I do have my beady eyes on a few though!

So that’s  my week wrapped up.  Happy Reading to all.

This is the second time I’ve see someone post The Testing in their book haul for the week! I can’t wait to read your review about it. 😀

    • Trish Hannon

I’m excited about it too, it sounds interesting and I watched the book trailer as well and it peaked my interest more. I think there is a big pre publishing push on so hope its not over hyped.

Cool post! 🙂 you’re getting a lot of reviews done! I wish I could’ve finished at least one book this week…I need to put in more time reading, less time everything else! Including blogging!

    • Trish Hannon

Thanks Diamond, I try for 3 reviews a week but sometimes life gets in the way. Twitter is my biggest time waster, I’d get more done if I spent less time there!

Yay for the book review page! It’s a pain, but definitely helpful. When I review a book I sometimes like to see what other bloggers I follow thought about it, so having that page is always helpful to quickly see if someone’s reviewed a book I”m looking at.

And wow, that’s a lot of books to review! I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of them 🙂

    • Trish Hannon

Thanks Asti, book review page is a necessary evil, feeling bad about not having one was worse than actually doing one. Re haul! I know, I have so much reading ahead of me! Happy days 🙂

    • Trish Hannon

Thanks Lark, relieved to have the book review page done, there was a nagging voice in my head about it, that I can now shut off! Well done on your book restraint last week too 😀

  4. Kelley

Congrats on getting your review archive finished! I know, housekeeping can be boring and time consuming, but it always feels good to get these kinds of things finished. The Testing looks really interesting. I’ve been seeing it floating around a lot this past week.

Ooh ooh ooh! Dare You To! I’m a little jealous haha. Did you read her Pushing The Limits? It’s great!

And you mentioned my post again! *squee*! I do a happy dance every time ha.

    • Trish Hannon

I’m doing it in reverse! Pushing the Limits is on my wish list now, I have to know what happened in this book.
      And you’re welcome 😉

Good job on not buying anything! (I think Netgalley helps some with that at times). I agree blog maintenance is such a drag sometimes…particularly the review list. I have multiple lists depending on overall genre and I hate myself for it, lol.
I hope you enjoy your new books Trish and have a great week!
