Top Ten Books At The TOP Of My Spring 2013 TBR list!

March 12, 2013 meme, TTT 19

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by one of my favourite blogs – http://brokeandbookish.blogspot.ie

This weeks theme is Ten Books at the Top of my Spring 2013 TBR List .  Again I’m going to go with 5 only as this works better for me.  Picking books I want is no bother, I have a list as long as my arm on GoodReads but the top ones, hmmmh…let me see.

1.  Shatter Me by  Tahereh Mafi – so many good reviews, so many people saying drop-everything, read-this-now.  It’s about time I listened.

2.  Daughter of Smoke and Bond by Laini Taylor – when I mentioned this in the ‘series I want to read’ post, there was so much love for this book that I could feel the heat from my laptop!  Will get to it soon, promise 🙂

3.  With All My Love by Patricia Scanlan – this is one of my favourite Irish authors and her new book is out this week.  It will be in my eager hands very, very soon.

4.  The Book Thief by Markus Zusaz – love the sound of this book, it seems a bit unique and I like to mix things up so this is very high on my book radar too.

5.  A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriaty – I have a NetGalley copy to read and review.  So looking forward to it, love that cover.  I haven’t read anything by this author before either and I love finding new authors to love, here’s hoping.

The only one I’ve read out of this list is The Book Thief, and I definitely recommend it! I don’t read historical fiction often but I picked this one up and I loved it. Though I do think I cried at one point, so beware! (I can’t help, sometimes books really make you feel, you know?)

Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Shatter Me seem like books I must read as well, even though I didn’t put them on my TTT. It’s crazy how such list grow and grow.

If a book doesn’t make me cry at some point, I feel hard done by. Lol. Better cry at a book than real life 🙂

Lots of love for The Book Thief out there today!

The Book Thief was fantastic. I was captivated by it from the first page. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a beautiful story–it really felt more like reading a fairy tale than reading a paranormal story. I enjoyed Shatter Me as well–not as much as The Book Thief or Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but definitely enough to want to read the sequel!

Thanks for dropping by, I’m so excited to read the Book Thief & Daughter of Smoke and Bone now, everyone seems to love them 🙂

If I include the sequels too, that’s a lot of fun reading ahead!

Love the list, but you need to drop everything and read Daughter Of Smoke And Bone. Now. It. Is. So. Effing. Good. I seriously gush about that book to anyone who will listen.

It is. And I’m also a little bit crazy, so get used to annoyingly incessant book pushing.

You know what you should read? That Daughter Of Smoke And Bone book, it is fantastic.

      😉

You haven’t read The Book Thief yet?! I don’t do this meme but I have to say read The Book Thief!! It’s one of my all-time favourites and it made me cry. A lot.

I often wonder if I would like audio books, must really try one out but I’m a bit if a traditionalist, like to read:-) Great for multi tasking I’d say though:-)

Well, I haven’t seen a few of these titles yet, but will be checking them out now.

I have had Shatter Me and A Corner of White in my hot little hands for a little while now and I cannot wait to get into them. Shatter Me is so highly talked of, I can’t believe I haven’t gotten to it yet!
