Book Review : Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza

March 28, 2013 Book review 4 ★★★★

Book Title:                           Mila 2.0
Author:                              Debra Driza
My GoodReads Rating:   4 out of 5 stars

Mila 2.0 is an exhilarating adventure, a hybrid of YA and Sci Fi. It starts off like a contemporary YA novel with a new girl in town trying to find her place. Mila is also dealing with the aftermath of a fire in which she lost her father and which has also left her with a faulty memory as many of her memories are missing. When she finds out who/what she really is, then the action really kicks off.

And when I say kicked off, I mean kicked off. The plot takes off with lightening speed and never slows down, it is so fast paced, I was exhausted just reading! You have fights, high speed chases, challenges with the highest stakes imaginable, it’s a flurry of activity! In addition, you have a lot of technology in Mila 2.0 which as a techie-head, I just loved. Geek heaven! This book will surely be made into a film, it is so action packed, it needs a big screen reveal.

Mila, our protagonist is brave, touchingly vulnerable, gutsy, determined and will do anything to protect her Mother. She is in denial about who she is and this part of the book is very realistically portrayed, I felt her denial and fear. Impossible not to adore her. Lucas and Hunter are engaging too but I have my suspicions about Hunter! Let’s just see what happens in book 2.

Highly recommended if you like books that are jam-packed with action and have a kick-ass, spunky heroine.
